Students Matter Most

Youth can experience career-building opportunities and learn important life skills when they participate in REYAP programs and agricultural-related activities. By introducing them to agricultural education, they are exposed to rewarding opportunities in diverse fields of work.

REYAP at Work

REYAP began with three members and operated in five counties. Today, the organization has touched more than 1,000 students in 50 counties throughout the state. Oklahoma State University plays a significant role in supplying resources for scholarships, summer employment and various agricultural forums. Agencies within the U.S. Department of Agriculture also provide conferences, workshops and summer employment.

Summer Intern Program

Participating employers provide mentoring and on-the-job training to help youth develop basic skills needed for employment in agribusiness.  Interns participate in training platforms for work presentations at the Career and Workforce Development Workshop and Leadership Seminar.

Youth/Community Services

Youth are encouraged to apply for legislative paging opportunities, to volunteer, and to engage in civic involvement.  Scholarships help students explore pathways to college, CareerTech education or self-employment.

Minority Youth in Agriculture Conference and the Agriculture Heritage Award Luncheon

Students have an excellent opportunity to network and research options in the field of agriculture, including technology, math and other sciences.  Agribusinesses, educational institutions, USDA agencies and other organizations interact with and promote agricultural opportunities to students.  Outstanding students and community mentors receive awards during the luncheon.
